The Turkestan Muslim Teachers' Institute was established on May 31, 1918, then was renamed to the Uzbek Pedagogical School, and then the Turkic Labor Pedagogical School. On its basis, from September 1, 1920, the Uzbek Men's Institute of Education (Uzinpros) was organized by order of the People's Commissariat for Education of the Turkic ASSR. It was liquidated in 1928.
