The Cotton Department of the Turkestan Regional Council of National Production (later, the Central Council of the National Economy of the Turkestan Republic) was established om March 24, 1918. The cotton committee (Turkkhlopkom) was formed under the Council of People's Commissars of the Turk ASSR at the beginning of 1922 in his place and was liquidated on 20 December, 1924.
